Ayurveda, which truly signifies "the science of life," is in the true sense an organic healing practice that evolved in India. It's a mind-body science that's even older than Pyramids & the oldest existing comprehensive system of medicine on the planet. It is a multi-disciplinary practice of medicine that puts equal attention to the body, mind, and spirit and endeavors to restore the intrinsic harmony of the person.
At the point when the early Yogis disembarked from their homeland Bharat to go the world over, some of them landed in Canada. One of them Swami Vishnu Devananda, a disciple of Swami Sivananda came with definite instructions from his teacher. With a clear command from his master to develop yoga teachings toward the West, Swami Vishnu as he was called, did only that. He was instrumental in the development and popularity of Ayurveda in Canada. Though what he preached has reached far and wide, the central station of his organization is in Val Morin, Quebec.
It’s imperative to point out that Yoga and Ayurveda are not separate from each other. In fact, they are two sides of the same coin. Yoga is actually the healing component of Yoga. Where yoga is a healing system to bring solace to the mind, Ayurveda is a healing practice to bring well being and lastingness to the body. Together, they make a complete system of body-brain well being.
